What Is Agarwood?
Agarwood is a rare and highly valuable aromatic hardwood formed inside Aquilaria trees. Over many years, these trees naturally produce a dark, resin-rich wood that is prized around the world.
This resinous wood is commonly used in luxury perfumes and oud oils, incense, and various cultural and traditional practices. Because agarwood takes a long time to develop and cannot be mass-produced quickly, it remains scarce, which contributes to its premium market value.
Why Agarwood Is Different
Agarwood is not a typical agricultural project and should not be viewed as a short-term business. It is a long-term investment in living trees that gradually increase in value as they mature.

Under favorable conditions, a mature Aquilaria tree may produce approximately one to three kilos of agarwood. A well-planned plantation can support up to one thousand trees per hectare.

Based on these estimates, the potential gross value per hectare may range from ₱45 million to ₱60 million. Over time, well-managed plantations may also experience significant land value appreciation. In some cases, land value may reach an estimated ₱4 million to ₱5 million per hectare after seven to ten years, depending on location, development, and market trends.
